In my app I still link the DPMI driver in with the pmode code, and then load
it into extended memory with rep movsd.  But that limits you to the DOS 640K
for program sizes.  If you have a borland or watcom linker you can write
a loader for their EXE files; those files are NOT in the dos format but in
the windows and OS/2 formats.  There is documentation on the net about
these formats,  but I'm not sure where you would find it.
