In article <724246489snx@sound.demon.co.uk> LiveWire@sound.demon.co.uk writes: >Could someone please give me some hints on learning assembly. I have written one >or two little test programs in 'C' that do boring stuff like add numbers >together and even that too nearly 50k! So I am going to switch to assembly. >I just need to be told where to start. Should I start with a book, by debugging >something or what ?? I would like to write nice little programs, for example >a phone-dialler... You have the wrong list, sonny. If you want to write a phone-dialler for your toy, go ask on comp.sys.msdos.programmer. This list is for mainframe systems. Any decent bookshop will be able to show you a shelf full of MS-DOS assembler programming books. (If you really do want to write a phone-dialler for a 370 mainframe, you have my admiration. But such people do not usually post from demon.co.uk.)
