We have a requirement to interface an archaic 2314 disk drive
with the MVS/XA Version 2 Release 2 operating system.

Has anyone done this before ? If so, how ?

o Did you build a UIM (Unit Information Module) ?
Were you able to use other IBM devices' support modules
and routines or did these modules have to written from
         scratch ?
o Were there any other requirements for DFP (Device
         Facility Product) ?
o Were modifications required to the application code that
accessed the device, or did the application access the
         device via JCL ?
o Does anyone have any hardware manuals for the 2314, (CCW
         strings, etc.)

Any references would be sincerely appreciated.
