Simplest is to make a collage: put all your pictures into one single picture (line them up in a row or use rows and columns). Load the collage into an invisible picturebox and use PaintPicture() to transfer the parts of it you want to visible pictureboxes. Next easiest is to make up your own file format, perhaps just a Long telling the number of bytes in the next picture, then that many bytes of picture and repeat. To extract the first picture read the Long, dim a Byte array, read the picture, save it to a file, and LoadPicture it. Even better if you do an index in your file header. If the pictures are bitmaps it's not too hard to load them without having to write them back out to disk first.
