You have the right idea.
    Set Application = GetObject(, "MSProject.Application")
    Set CurrentProj = Application.ActiveProject
    Set AllTasks = CurrentProj.Tasks
    For Each Task in AllTasks
        'process tasks
    Next

This code gets a currently-running instance of Project. To create a new
instance, change the GetObject line to
Set Application=CreateObject(MSProject.Application)
or
Set Application=New MSProject.Application
