I have a simple DAO app. I want to use the crystal report control for a custom report that I made for this app. It's the client report. When the client creates a new record I want them to be able to print just the current record. I have a menu to print the report here is the code for the click event. Dim ID as Byte ID = txtWorkOrderID.Text 'this is the primary id for the table, its also displayed as locked textbox on the client form. PrtCurrent.DataSource = "ctsworkorder.mdb" 'this is the database, PrtCurrentRecord is the name of the Crystal Report Control PrtCurrent.SelectionFormula = "woMain.WorkOrderID" & ID " 'woMain is the table, WorkOrderID is the primary id for the table PrtCurrent.PrintReport ' print to screen I get nothing from this code, the control doesent even open! What am i doing wrong? I have the report name in the Crystal Report Contol propertys. Help ME! Thanks, Corey

Thanks for taking your time to post your message Jamal! I think this should be the right board to post this message. VB & Crystal Reports have everything to do with databases. Buddy! Hi Steven, I thinke we have a system fault here, the forums header of Corey's message looks >> comp.lang.basic.visual.database but visual is visual and VO is designed for databases too <g> Ahoj -Uwe Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

I use VB5 and Crystal Reports 4.6, so this may be bollocks. But in these
versions selection formulas are written (using yours as an example):
PrtCurrent.SelectionFormula = "{woMain.WorkOrderID}""" & ID & """"
Try this.

Corey Visual Objects is not Visual Basic. So you posted to the wrong NG.<g> I don't have an answer for you either as I don't use VB. -- HTH Steve Quinn http://www.brutecom.com.au If you're too open minded, your brains will fall out. Stephen, I can agree with you about posting the same message across different news groups, but as the ActiveX stuff should be development language independent it can be useful to ask in a different news group to verify if it works ok in another tool, or if the problem is within his own code. After all, I think we all are database developers here in this news group and not all of us are using DBF files only. -- Regards, Lars-Eric http://www.clippersweden.se "Stephen Quinn" <squinn@brutecom.com.au> skrev i meddelandet news:3a17289e$0$19421$7f31c96c@news01.syd.optusnet.com.au... > Uwe > > It also says > comp.lang.clipper.visual-objects > > Asking VB questions in a VO group might (more than likely won't) get him the > answer he needs. > > Asking VB questions in a VO group wastes bandwidth and wastes everyones time > in this NG that doesn't know or doesn't want to know anything about VB. > > If the question was about DAO and VO then I couldn't have helped either > (except I'd have advised him to get VO2DAO (I think that's what it's > called)) but someone else might have. > > Anyone would probably get a similar response if he asked about DAO and VO in > the VB NGs. > ie Your asking in the wrong NG > > -- > HTH > Steve Quinn > http://www.brutecom.com.au > If you're too open minded, your brains will fall out. > Age is a very high price to pay for maturity. > Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity. > > >

Uwe
It also says
comp.lang.clipper.visual-objects
Asking VB questions in a VO group might (more than likely won't) get him the
answer he needs.
Asking VB questions in a VO group wastes bandwidth and wastes everyones time
in this NG that doesn't know or doesn't want to know anything about VB.
If the question was about DAO and VO then I couldn't have helped either
(except I'd have advised him to get VO2DAO (I think that's what it's
called)) but someone else might have.
Anyone would probably get a similar response if he asked about DAO and VO in
the VB NGs.
ie Your asking in the wrong NG
