SP2/VB5 - which files?

I know its stupid, but anyway: I have compiled a "version 1.0" of an application, sold a number of copies, then installed SP2 on my own PC, and now I want to update the "version 1.0"-application on the users' PCs. I can't just replace the .EXE-file since the new version is compiled with SP2 (and the old version without)... BUT: Does anyone know WHICH files in VB5s vast number of DLLs and OCXs that are replaced with SP2? It would make things a lot easier, if I didn't have to distribute a full setup to those who want to update. Thanks! -- Jens Vestergaard http://www.railsoft.dk Svar: jv snabel-a railsoft.dk dk-online er til spam :-)

I too had the same problem, which really annoyed me. When you load VB5, check in the Components list. At the end of each listed component you should see either (SP2) or (SP3) Craig

Use the Setup wizard that comes with VB5. Also, you should upgrade to SP3 before you do that. Setup wizard will tell you which files need to be shipped, then you can use any setup program to zip and ship. Tkanks for the try, but that does not solve my problem... First: I don't like setup-wizard. Second: Setup-wizard will tell me ALL the files needed for my app. But I only need to know which have CHANGED from "SP0" to SP2. Thanks - It is quite a good idea, and I hadn't thought of it myself, but it will only work halfway, won't it? In the Components List are only OCX-files, whereas other runtime-DLLs are not listed - f.ex. MSVBM50.DLL and I guess some others for database access (I'm using MS Access 2.0 which doesn't make things easier...!) Thanks - good thinking! Only problem is, I don't have the INF-file (or the original SP2 ZIP-file) anymore. And I think I'll pass on the 40 megs, until they show up on a CD :-) Jens David Copperhead skrev i meddelelsen <68oh6r$809@mtinsc05.worldnet.att.net>... >Jens, >The service packs have a file called setup.inf containing a list of components >installed, btw m$ has SP3 on their website, the core is about 40megabytes >hope you have a T1 connection. > >later... >DC >
