I missed most of the earlier discussions on this thread (that may not
be an unmitigated disaster). However when one reads

it is hard not to react, however futile the basic theme of this
mega-crosspost discussion may be.

In no serious way can Eiffel be considered a ``Lisp-family language''.
Of course any decent post-1958 language owes much gratitude to Lisp
(if only because of recursion and garbage collection). But beyond
that the Lisp and Eiffel style are entirely different, as even
a cursory look at textbooks or manuals for both languages will
immediately reveal.

(I hope there is no need for follow-ups, but if there is please
limit them to comp.lang.eiffel and comp.lang.lisp, as I will do
after this one.)
