When your app starts, do a FileLen("yourdata.txt") then use a timer to check
the filesize at whatever interval suits you. When the size changes, open the
file for input and Seek (the Seek statement works even in sequentials files)
to the previous size, after the Seek just do a Line Input loop until you
reach the end of the file.
Another thing to consider is the fact that in VB6 you can read very large
files in a single hit using the Get statement:
Open "yourdata.txt" For Binary As #1
tmp$ = String(LOF(1), " ")
Get #1, , tmp$
Close #1
This method is very fast.
Just some ideas, hope it helps.
