As we all know, LEDA includes the macro LEDA_MEMORY(type) to provide an efficient memory management schema. Basically it allocates memory in chunks of 2^13 -4 bytes and then slices every chunk in cells of the appropriate size. I can understand the size of the basic chunk to be a power of 2, but what puzzles me is that -4 bytes, so my question is the following: why the chunk size is precisely 2^13-4 instead of being just 2^13? Ideas, anyone? Patricia P.S. Source code appears in _memory.c & memory.h
