Need some LOOPS help...

'Lo, gang:

I am a CS major writing a paper on the strengths and weaknesses of the
LOOPS language and am seeking reference material for it. I also am personally
looking for something to supplement my MuLISP and am looking to see if there
is a LOOPS package for the MS-DOS platform, or at least for a manual.
Unfortunately, the support I've received from XEROX was short of
pathetic; All their branch offices knew nothing about anything about
any LOOPS programming language, and referred me to their documentation
division, who said basically, "If you don't have the inventory number
for that manual, then don't bother us." This is from an business
organization that SELLS products?!?
So, I am now appealing to the LOOPS user base for help. Does anyone
out there know where I can FTP or purchase a manual, or can at least tell
me what their inventory number for the LOOPS manual ("The LOOPS manual",
Xerox Corp., 1983) is? I appreciate any info you can give me. Thanx.

Yeah well, that's one of the reasons Xerox got out of the Lisp
business. Fortunately, someone else took over from them, namely Venue.
They can be reached by calling (800)-228-5325, or by sending mail to
aisupport.mv@envos.xerox.com. You can send questions on LOOPS to
either that address or to the info-1100 mailing list, address
info-1100@cis.ohio-state.edu, which is more likely to have LOOPS users
than the CLOS mailing list.

LOOPS won't run in MuLISP, but it does run in the DOS release of
Medley, currently in beta test. I can't remember what the educational
price is right now, but I'm sure someone at Venue can.
