VAX real*8 --> IEEE (unix)
#4622

Hi all,

I have a data file that has been written on a VAX and I need to be able
to read it on a Sun workstation.

Using some existing code, I can read all the data and convert real*4
and integers into the IEEE format used by Sun. But there is no code
around for converting real*8 values.

Does anybody have any Fortran or C code (preferably Fortran)
that will take a VAX real*8 and return an IEEE real*8.

Any thoughts or comments would be welcome.

Cheers

Chris Phillips
