I've just received Hermes 0.8 alpha. I loaded it on my rs6000 and everything seems to have gone along properly (I haven't actually tried running anything yet). I also have an HP 9000 that I put the software on. I didn't find the binaries for HP in the distribution (I loaded the bsdrt and power tar files and looked in ~hermes/mbin) so I thought I'd remake it. Using hpux as the MTYPE, all seemed to go well until I got to the xwindow source. Apparently it's using X11R3 and HP-UX 8.07 uses X11R4, and n'er the twain shall meet. I know nothing about X programming, so I have no idea about how to change the source to be compatible with X11R4. Does anyone have the changes needed for xwindow.c, TtyText.[ch], ... -- chris kostick, afterlife.ncsc.mil "no catchy signature yet"
