No one cares for skills you learned for a tool or an api that is not used anymore. And things change, this is why this job is about constant learning. And my perception is that this is just *why* people stick to the things they know a lot more. Today you are the best in your metier, tomorrow someone who is half as old and has nearly no experience is still better at the tasks that are needed then. (That is, if you concentrate solely on technical skills and disregard others like teamwork or business skills.) Ok, a year maybe is too short, but let it be five, which even is not a very long time. > ... deficiencies like non-proportional fonts. Ever seen non-proportional fonts outside of computers or mechanical typewriters? There *is* a reason why they are not used. Apart from that a text in proportinal font can carry more information at a page, this is of perception. The more information a symbol carries on different layers, the better it is readable. The space used is a very significant information which can be perceived at a glance. By the way, this is why serif fonts are used in long text. A little different is this ad headlines and ads, which are normally 'read' at once and not character by character. Here a sans serif font is appropriate. Bye Hauke Ingmar
