I am wondering what is the recommended way of using PreparedStatements. I create my prepared statements on startup, and reference them during execution, I don't close them until the application exits. Is this the way they should be used ? If this is correct, eventually I will run out of available cursors. I read somewhere that there is a limit of 50 open cursors per connection. Is this limit imposed by the driver or the DBMS ? I am using the Oracle Thin driver with 7.3 of Oracle. Thanks for any suggestions, ..Chris.
