Hello, I made an unfortunate typo in my last header, model instead of modal. I need advice on a modal JPopupMenu(). For a quick port of a C program I need to call this popupmenu from the C code in a DLL. I have the popup & actions all figured out, JNI also works fine, it is purely a Java problem. I am using jdk1.2.2. After I call myPopup.show(null, x, y); in Java the thread offcourse continues. I need to wait after myPopup.show(null, x, y); untill the user makes a choice. Threads and how to stop them are not my strong points... Any ideas on how to do this? (I could build a modal dialog, but prefer a solution with the standard JPopupMenu()) best regards, Peter

It seems that you have an idea to open a Java dialog modal to a window in C. Can you tell me how to do this? I have a similar situation to open a Java Dialog/WindowFrame from a C window program. The Java window opened has to maintain the parent-child and modal relationship with the C window. I have had a difficult time to do the conversion between Java window class and C window handle. Opening a Java window by null owner/parent will cause a lot of problems although it hides the parent window from user's access. Let me know how you handle opening a Java dialog from C window program as you said that you could build a modal dialog (assumed in Java). Thanks in advance.
