Applet can't find widget class

Hello,

I'm trying to use a 3rd part widget (JBChartXLite) with JBuilder 4 in our
app, but can't get our app (SwingkursApplet) to find the needed class file.
I get the error message:

"SwingkursApplet.java": Error #: 300 : class JBChartXLite not found in class
SwingkursApplet at line 35, column 3

Here is the applet code:

package swingkurs;

import com.vstl.swing.chartx.*;
import java.awt.*;
import java.awt.event.*;
import java.applet.*;
import javax.swing.*;

public class SwingkursApplet extends JApplet {
  boolean isStandalone = false;
  JPanel jPanel1 = new JPanel();
  JButton jButton1 = new JButton();
  JLabel jLabel1 = new JLabel();
  JBChartXLite vstl;                 <= fails here
...

Why is JBChartXLite not found, as long as I have imported
com.vstl.swing.chartx.* above? The compiler does not complain about the
import com.vstl.swing.chartx.*; command, which I assume means that the
source is found. And in this folder is the JBChartXLite.class file. But why
is the compiler looking for this class in the applet class?

(I apologize if this is a stupid question, but I'm new at this.)

In advance, thanks for your help.
