Hi. I'm developing an Applet and have found a few applets that give the .class files but not the .java file. Thats why I want to know if the below can be achieved. 1) If I've got .class files can I in anyway convert these to get the whole Java code? 2) Can I make any use of the .class file for my own applet? Thanks in advance guys.

Use Java Decompiler to decompile the class to java code. http://www2.comp.polyu.edu.hk/~csbao/download/ Cheers, Hari "Mr.A" <auto302214@hushmail.com> wrote in message news:a7o782$cs5$1@paris.btinternet.com... > Hi. > > I'm developing an Applet and have found a few applets that give the .class > files but not the .java file. and also, respect the wishes of the original programmer; dont use his/her code without asking. you may be in violateion of licensing laws in any case, and also bear in mind that reverse engineering software is illegal in many places. if youre doing it in an official capacity, you could be risking your job "Hari Katta" <hkatta@iona.com> wrote in message news:a7o8vf$s7m$1@spider.iona.com... > Use Java Decompiler to decompile the class to java code. > > http://www2.comp.polyu.edu.hk/~csbao/download/ > > > Cheers, > Hari > > "Mr.A" <auto302214@hushmail.com> wrote in message > news:a7o782$cs5$1@paris.btinternet.com... > > Hi. > > > > I'm developing an Applet and have found a few applets that give the .class > > files but not the .java file. You can conver your .class files to code by using NMI Java code viewer. You can find it at http://njcv.htmlplanet.com/ "Mr.A" <auto302214@hushmail.com> wrote in message news:<a7o782$cs5$1@paris.btinternet.com>... > Hi. > > I'm developing an Applet and have found a few applets that give the .class > files but not the .java file.
