Here is what im trying to do.. I am trying to get a variable that is defined
on an html page on someone elses server.. lets call it
notmyserver.com/index.html.  How can I grab the html to use in my javascript
page? (once I can access the html I can search for the variable, but any
method that I try to use doesnt seem to work)..

goto 'view' then source on i.e.- don't know with netscape!
you could save page on to your hard disk then open it with notepad (hold
down shift and right click on html file to get 'open with' option)
