More aspects: I'm doubting if the Linar stuff is the same thing. First: It is more mighty and less easy to get started. Second: Should a Java programmer think in categories as "I'm using ActiveX"? I think he shouldn't even think like "I'm using Word for Windows". My Java class is named "WordProcessing", not "WordForWindows" nor "SystemAPI". The Java developer may use it without caring what word processing system may be used now or later. Coming from AS/400 development I'm pretty new to public domain culture and I don't want to compare with the authors of Linux - but why not trying to cooperate building more drivers to access many word processing systems on different platforms as a freeware?
