Yeah, I got a recomendation. STAY AWAY FROM J++. It's from Microsoft
and it is Java, but with some important differences (at least that's
what my CS professor told me). Microsoft supposedly (or so I have
heard) gave J++ keywords and features that are not platform independent
in their attempt to "kill cross-platform Java." Really, there are some
shareware programs out there that will color code your source and allow
you to create a button to compile with the JDK so you don't need a
development environment. However, I have worked with Visual Cafe and
found it bearable (although I prefer the aformentioned shareware text
editors.)
