After installing Java Plugin 1.2, I can't launch any applet that use it.
I downloaded the demos from Java Site and adapted the applet Clock as
indicated in the "Java Plug-in HTML specification", not better.
When I use Explorer (4.0, Win NT 4), the Java plugin console is launched
and the following error is generated : "APPLET tag missing CODE
parameter".
When I use Netscape (4.06, Win NT 4), the Java plugin console is
launched and Netscape crashes with a violation access.
The original applet (with browser's internal VM) works very well in the
two browsers.
I think that there is a problem with Java Plugin 1.2 or JRE (it's the
same problem with another computer and Explorer 3)
Here is (cut/paste) :
- The Java report (for the Explorer problem)
- the source of Html page for Explorer
- The source of Html page for Netscape
- The original source of Html page
We work on an intranet with no proxy.
Thank you for any help, it's quite urgent !

In the <object> tag, try using <param name="java_code" value="JavaClock.class"> <param name="java_codebase" value="classes/"> <param name="java_type" value="application/x-java-applet;version=1.2"> instead, to differentiate the Java tags from the plugin tags.
