Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has implemented a directory selecting dialog box.. ie one that looks similar to the FileDialog box in AWT except that it only allows you to select directories (or create them).. I'm not quite sure how to write one myself. I was thinking of creating a dialog with a tree list control.. but then came to the realisation that I couldn't do it in a machine independant fashion (ie allow the user to select a drop down box of drives under Windows - I couldn't find a class or method that would enumerate the drives on a Windows computer..) Does anyone have any clues? regards, gerardo bentancor

Hello There was a class called DirectoryModel that was suppose to be in the preview class that is not there. This class was suppose to be a view of the files system. Anyway, I think the JFileChooser class may be configured as a directory viewer. If that doesn't help look at the FileSystemView class in swing. It is call the gateway into the file system.
