If you're trying to connect from win2000 to linux here, as your message
seems to indicate, then something is going wrong.  127.0.0.1 is localhost,
and the same NIC can't be running under both win2000 and linux. :)

If you don't understand where the 127.0.0.1 is coming from, then post the
connection code, and we'll see.
