I've much more productive in Java and I can honestly say that after only a few months I already know Java better than I know C++ (which I've even implemented!). I think the people who are using for C++ for applications will abandon it in favor of Java, and those who are using it for systems (like I used to do) will abandon it in favor of C, though I admit the latter prediction is mostly without logical justification. -- Dan Jacobs email: djacobs@BlueSky.net Tech Tonic Netsystems voice: 617-273-5825 Burlington, MA
