The 3rd OS was the UCSD p-System and there was also a 4th, XENIX, which 
was a Microsoft port of UNIX to the 8088.

At the time, we bought PC-DOS because it was the cheapest. As I remember 
it, the pricing on PC-DOS was just under $100 and CPM/86 was about $400.
