Automatic mail submission

When hitting the 'submit' button on a form I'd prefer the form's
contents to be e-mailed to an address, with a preset subject. I don't
want to just have a URL of mailto: because that wouldn't implement a
form, and I can't use Javascript's .submit() because Demon won't let me
have my own CGI scripts.

Why not just use Demon's own CGI script by starting your form with the
following ?

	<FORM METHOD=get ACTION="/cgi-bin/mailform">

Because the code would then become 'demon specific', and I need the code
on a few different servers.

Standard html should be okay

<form action="maito:you@demon?subject=yourSubject"
enctype="text/plain" method="post">

Try starting your form with this:

<form action="http://www.tamu.edu:80/cgi/mailto.pl" method="POST">
<input type="hidden" name="errorsto" value="name@host.demon.nl">
<input type="hidden" name="mailitto" value="name@host.demon.nl">
<input type="HIDDEN" name="subject" VALUE="Any subject you want">
Your real name:        <input name="namefrom" size=45>
Your e-mail address:   <input name="mailfrom" size=45>

This works fine for me. Pse let me know if it works for you too...

Do you have permission from tamu.edu to use their mailto.pl
They may not be happy when every Tom, Dick and Harry slams their
server with form mail calls.

Thanks to all who suggested something along the lines of:

<FORM METHOD="GET"
ACTION="mailto:njh@smsltd.demon.co.uk?subject=auto-subscribe">
Your Real Name: <INPUT TYPE=TEXT NAME="name" SIZE=32 MAXLENGTH=32><br>
Your E-mail Address: <INPUT TYPE=TEXT NAME="address" SIZE=32
MAXLENGTH=32><br>
Receive in Digest Form? <INPUT TYPE=CHECKBOX Name="digest"><br><br>
<INPUT TYPE="submit" VALUE="Submit"> <INPUT TYPE="reset">
</FORM>

However it doesn't work. When you click on 'submit' you just get a
mail pop up window with nothing filled in. (NS3.0)
