Hello,
  I am in great need of understanding the scoping and extent of the
languages (pascal, lisp, and fortran).  If anyone can email me with
explanation of how this feature is handled and what goes on to make it
work, it would mean a lot to me since I am supposed to right a paper on
it for my class (2nd yr).  Please not that I am not just interested in
the syntax but additional explanation.
  I hope you will help me out, as best you can as I am desparate.
