We are currently considering XLISP/Winterp for use in a major internal project. It's role would be as an interpretted layer for many of our software dev. and test automation tools. It would be used for both a tool command language (users could interact with their tools, and build new tool commands - like emacs) and as a vehicle for componentization of re-usable tool components (using XLISP objects). Anyway, we are interested in hearing from everyone who has used XLISP in any major projects. Also we would like to hear opinions on the plusses and minuses of using XLISP/Winterp for such an application. We are especially interested in hearing some success stories with large XLISP projects (to help us convince our senior people and more skeptical groups of XLISP's feasability as a tool framework language). Either drop me an e-mail note at: tims@bnr.ca or post your responses for discussion. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Tim Spurway Bell Northern Research Network Test Tools Development (Dept. 7h12) Ottawa, ON.
