Has anyone tried speeding up XLISP by using a faster garbage collection algorithm? Also, I have read a paper which describes implementing a threaded LISP interpreter - has anyone experimented with this sort of approach? I was thinking of playing with XLISP to see if any sort of speedup was possible - I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has tried modifying the interpreter or using different gc algorithms.
