When was XLISP first placed into the public domain ?
With the DECUS release of V1.1 in 1983 (beacuse of its
heritage on the PDT-11/150) ? [I am interested because
I am writing my own manual to document V1.1, and I want
	to give it proper credit.]

Did V1.0 ever see the light of (public) day ?

	I can find references for:

XLISP V1.1, DECUS, 1983. DECUS 11-626 has it in XLSUBR.C.
XLISP V1.2, BCS AI SIG, 1984. in Bonnie Fladung's book.

	Regards,
	rcs

This is the copyright notice from the version of xlisp distributed in
the winterp package. This software is not "public domain." But it is
freely usable. In this case the copyright is used to protect the
authors and their employers from being sued and from having their
names used with out their permission.

As far as I remember, Xlisp 1.5 came out in 1985. The first time I wrote
a LISP program, using David's implementation.

Um, I don't think David Betz established copyright prior to version
1.7 -- the last PD version was incorporated into a well known CAD
package without acknowledgement, and that sort of forced the issue
upon him.
