too many levels recursion- MSWlogo.2.1

I'm kind of confused about something. I've just written a small
spiral procedure to teach my 6th grade students about loops
and it works fine on the apple IIc at school using appleLogo
but when I run it on MSW Logo I get a message saying "too many
levels of recursion."Here's the procedure:
.
to spiral :firstlength :angle
cs
while[:firstlength<175][fd :firstlength; rt :angle; make "firstlength
 [] :firstlength+2 ]
 end
 .
Now, there are brackets in the correct places here, but for some reason
my rn system won't let me print them.(?)
What happens is that the procedure will run for the first 50 or so times
through the loop and then I get the error message. Can anyone help?
thanks.
