I have been given the requirement to develop an absolute address object
patcher for COFF files.
Obviously this is not something I want to spend 6-8 months working on.
Does anyone know of such a beast?
The basic requirement is to provide the capability of patching COFF
executable programs in the field, with the following restrictions:
o) Symbolic debug information would not have to be kept upto date.
o) Patching of the COFF .lib and .init sections (shareable library information)
will not be required.
o) Only executable binaries will be required to be patched.
o) The execution of a COFF disassembler should not be required.
Any help or direction is appreciated.
Matt
