MAKE problem

Who is familiar with make (SUNs version, SUN OS 4.1.3) ?

I have one macro:   MACRO1 = path1/filename1.ext1 path2/filename2.ext1 ....

I will get a macro: MACRO2 = filename1.ext2 filename2.Ext2 ...

This is to build up a rule:

filename1.Ext2:        ../path1/filename1.ext1
                        "command"

With gnu make i could use:

MACRO2 =        $(notdir $(MACRO1)

MACRO2:         $(filter %/$(@:.Ext2=.Ext1), $(MACRO1:%=../%))
                "command"

But gnu make does not know conditional macros which I use intensively.

So, how to solve about problems with (standard) SUN make ??

Thanks for all replies !!

Dirk

While make is a tool that is commonly used with C compilers on some
systems it has no relevance to the C (or C++) language itself. You'd
do better to post this to comp.unix.programmer or a Sun related newsgroup.

Possibly a gnu related newsgroup.
