Modula-2 to Pascal Code Conversion

I have this Modula-2 DOS program, which I'm thinking of converting to
Pascal, and then perhaps into Delphi.

Can anyone tell me if there is a Modula-2 to Pascal Code Converter
around ?

WHY? Why does anybody want to go back from a superior language to a
predecessor?

Actually, it won't work if you have any code in it that uses features
that are only available in Modula-2.

I am afraid you will have to rewrite most of it manually.

Real soon now... we are promised Modula-2 'delphi's from TopSpeed and
Stony Brook. ( well, not exactly delphi clone, but windows friendly at least )
Betas of both have been kicking about for appx 6 months - that may be one
solution.

We have written a Pascal -> Modula-2 translator, for our Mod51 cross compiler.
( no plans to go the other way.... )
However, for M2 -> Borland Pascal v7, they have many m2 style extensions,
though are still a m2 subset.
I would suggest you write a simple 'begin' inserter/translator for starters,
then focus on doing PASCAL versions of the m2 libraries.
If you use BITSET, LOOP, ARRAY OF CHAR a lot, it will not be easy....
BP7 does have a C style Char Pointer, for dealing with null terminated
strings.
Another option would be to place the M2 stuff into a DLL, and put a
Delphi shell around it ( it depends on your requirements... ).

I knocked up a Coco/R application that does about 85% of the job for you
for PIM Modula-2 to Turbo Pascal. Let me know if you're interested and I'll
dig it out for you.
