Hi,

I am learning Oberon using the book "Programming in Oberon - Steps beyond Pascal and Modula" by
M. Reiser and N. Wirth. Using the Oberon Compiler: System3 R2.03 (PPC) from ETH ZΓΌrich on a
Power Mac 7500 I encountered difficulties when traing to compile module XYplane. The module is
needed in the module IFS. The error message is given below.

 compiling XYplane
  pos 578 err 0
  pos 596 err 53
  pos 617 err 0
  pos 630 err 100
  pos 689 err 53
  pos 713 err 53
  pos 760 err 53
  pos 776 err 53
  pos 813 err 53
  pos 835 err 53
  pos 1142 err 0
  pos 1180 err 0
  pos 1637 err 115

Who knows what is going on? I got the file XYplane via ftp from ETH.

Another question: What is the better compiler when trying to compile the examples in the book?
I have the
  + System3 R2.03 (PPC)
+ PowerMac Oberon V4 (TM) and
  + Oberon/F 1.2 ß
available.on my Mac.

Is there anybody else who used the Reiser/Wirth book to learn Oberon? I would be interested
into exchanging experiences!

Markus
