Please read the Borland guidelines about choice of news-server for posting; your post has been less visible than it might have been, since Borland's tame gurus, TeamB, only read from the Borland server. I have, therefore, reversed the newsgroups line, and set FU to c.l.p.b only. Presumably your main reason for being unable to compile is that you do not have the Toolbox. AFAIR, but ICBW, the Toolbox was never part of the basic Pascal product, but had to be acquired separately. It may be provided as source code, in which case it is potentially compilable with 5.5; it may be all as *.TPU (possibly with interface *.INC as documentation), and TPUs have no cross-version compatibility. Additionally, TP5.5 is upwards compatible with TP4, but this does not mean that it can necessarily compile all TP4 source without any changes. TP5.5, IIRC, introduced Objects, hence introduced the reserved word "object". If your code has any variables named "object", try changing to "objekt". There may be other differences of that general nature. You may be able to buy the Toolbox, and/or TP4, in a legal manner (see <URL:http://www.merlyn.demon.co.uk/pas-bptp.htm#used>. -- John Stockton, Surrey, UK. jrs@merlyn.demon.co.uk Turnpike v4.00 MIME. Web <URL:http://www.merlyn.demon.co.uk/> - FAQish topics, acronyms, & links.
