I always consider an apology for something avoidable and not yet done to
be a sign of naive insincerity.

Interestingly, his XP has achieved less than might have been intended.
The authorised servers for the first-named newsgroup only accept direct
input and do not peer, so the cognoscenti who rely on those servers
(forums.borland.com &c) will not see the post; the second group was
removed years ago, as per the regular weekly posting, and, since it
propagates badly, only the foolish will carry and use it.

Perhaps the regular weekly posting should be posted or cross-posted to
the defunct newsgroups, as a warning to their misguided users?
