Bit confusing, your system; your reply was double-quoted...

I can't find "Save into", but the trick was simple in the end ;
File | Open project | select the fresh *.EXE ;
File | Add to project | File Type to ICO | select the *.ICO (previously
                                                                created)
File | Exit.

The *.EXE is now a bit bigger & the icon appears if the EXE is made a
Program Manager item.

followup to demon.ip.support.turnpike, since the problem point has
progressed to Turnpike's area again.

Richard or similar(?) guru : with the Toolbar Button External Command
        c:\misc\fetcher.exe
I get my ghastly tasteless icon; but with the T B E C
        c:\misc\fetcher.exe c:\misc\fetch.dat
I get the blank button & the "Failed to Open" - I guess Turnpike may be
searching the .dat file for an icon..? .dat is "plain text".

I think it best to give the .dat file name as a parameter, but I can
easily build it in to the program if necessary.
