Hi folks... We've got somewhat of a dilemma. An application we've developed has been installed in a bunch of locations around the country. It's written in Turbo Pascal 7.0, and is a 640x480 16 color graphics application, using the EGAVGA.BGI driver for video. These systems use this application to pull data off a Novell server (up til now running IPX and NETX for connectivity) Recently, the company running this app has been upgrading their workstations to use VLM's from Novell. Apparently the version they are using is from NetManage. All the machines that have had this upgrade done to them can n o longer run our app. When our app starts up, it says 'Unable to initialize graphics - BGI error' (this is right at the InitGraph statement). DetectGraph returns the correct values for VGA and the mode needed, but InitGraph fails. I just found Jordan Hargrave's BGI drivers on oak.oakland.edu, and they look really good. It is a commercial product, and may help us out with other problems, but will it also fix this one? Is Novell doing something wifty with the VLM drivers that makes it impossible to go into VGA 640x480x16 mode with the stock (circa 1992) BGI drivers with Pascal 7.0? Email is best - thanks in advance... ------------------------------------------------------------------------- One whose existence relies heavily Shayde - Dave Shevett on the solidity of others. shevett@pilot.njin.net
