Update on ORACLE-DB with subselect

Hi,
I'm desparate on finding a way to execute a statement like:

-------- snip --------
UPDATE ":ORA_CONNECT:ORA_TABLE" ot
SET ot.col = 'something'
WHERE ot.onecol = 42
AND   ot.othercol IN (
  select col from ":BDE_DB:BDE_TABLE" WHERE something is true
);
-------- snap --------

The statement is working without "AND   ot.othercol IN (...".
Subselect itself is working too.
Oracle is 9.2.

Any ideas?
