Delphi claims 'native' support for Sybase, because SQL Links (the SQL server
drivers for the BDE) contains a Sybase driver that uses Open Client.
If you want to bypass the BDE and use the Open Client directly you could use
CTLib for Delphi (http://www.geocities.com/ctlibcomps/index.htm) or the more
general SQLDirect (http://www.sqldirect-soft.com/).
