Hi, I originally access my DB using a simple TTable but I now need to select a set of records. I have tried using StartRange and EndRange BUT I want all records whose Field1 > Something and whose Field2 < SomethingElse It appears Ranges cannot handle this so off I go to TQuery. I can build the exact SQL Query I need quite easily but I also need to sort the records on various fields (depending on user decisions). Now, TTable has an IndexName which I can change depending on how I want to sort the data BUT TQuery has no equivalent. Any help would be much appreciated. Stuart Cox

TQuery's cannot be sorted in Delphi your only options are to 1. re-run the query using different order by statements 2. Copy the data to a client dataSet and do indexing on it (easier, but requres C/S) Stuart Cox wrote: > Hi, > > I originally access my DB using a simple TTable but I now need to select a > set of records. Lief has a grid that will sort by clicking on header column. Check it out at "Greg Lief [G.L.A.D. Components for Borland Delphi and C++Builder developers]" http://www.greglief.com/delphi/components_specs.shtml I think there are other components in the DSP to do the same thing.
