Search in query result set

[Delphi 1.02]

I have a Query1 which returns a result set of several hundred or even
thousand records.
What's the most efficient way to find out whether among those records
there is one with key field "RecID" matching a given value? What I
need is a Boolean function similar to Table1.FindKey(...).

Thanks for any hints

Include the RecID criterion in the SQL in the query. Then, "if not
Query1.Eof then <found>;"
Try to avoid bringing the "thousand records" over the network in the
first place.
