This is not a Delphi question, it's an AI question. You're in luck;
according to this month's Dr. Dobb's Journal's cover, AI is cool
again... (-:

There has actually been some research into synthetic emotional
behaviour. While the scientist was talking to the reporter, the
computer grew gruff over being ignored. You're right, it _is_
funny.

I don't suppose simple canned responses would satisfy your craving
for abject behaviour?
