For a very great library, take a look at ImageLib. You can find
demoversions on the homepage of the company at http://www.imagelib.com

We use it with (among others) a HP6100C. We use the TWAIN interface.

We have nothing to do with Skyline Tools, but are very happy with the
Imagelib product.
