Strange behavior in Delphi 4.0 IDE - Corlde40.bpl??

If I have a unit or two open in the code editor when I close down, when
I reopen Delphi  the splash screen becomes blank for a few seconds and
then I�m presented with

 �Access violation at address 20105C5 in module Corlde40.bpl. read of
address 00000000�.

After that the program functions well except that the code Explorer is
always undocks itself in this process. Does anyone know what�s happening
here?

 If I have NO windows open when I close down (except the Object
Inspector) there is no error generated, the splash screen displays
properly and all is well.
