Migration from Delphi 2.0 C/S to 3.0 C/S:

Our organization is ready to upgrade from Delphi 2.0 Client Server to
version 3.0 Client Server.

Our basic development concepts have been using NT 4.0, Delphi 2.0, and
MS SQL 6.5 to build and maintain WEB and in house applications.

I was hoping to get a bit a feedback about what we might expect in this
transition.

As far as I have read, the BDE is 100% backwards compatible.

Will there be much work is respects to porting issues?

Is there any technical documents written along this topic?

Any feedback or insight would be greatly appreciated..

Porting from Delphi 2 to Delphi 3 is fairly simple provided you have
updates to all third party components in Delphi 3.

The only problem is datasets in Delphi 3 seperate the handle property out
some code will require access to the handle property and you will need to
access the hand with the with clause:

    with DataSet as TdbDataSet do
        handle := ?

Also some units will be missing either DB or DBTables declarations in their
uses clause..
