I have a project that I have come back to after some time....

When opening my app in the IDE (delphi 3) I get a :

"Error creating form: Unexpected failure"

How do I go about recovering my form...???

Thanks

After making the appropriate backups, try
viewing the form as a text file (use convert.exe
in the Bin folder). You might spot the problem
and be able to manually fix it - of course you
have to turn the text file back into a .dfm to
find out.

If it doesn't work, at the very least you can use
the text file as a description of the form if you
need to recreate it.

I think that's just one of the pains Delphi can be. The IDE can be pretty
buggy at times, especially just EAccessViolation-ing sometimes, preventing
you from saving your project - very annoying! I haven't come across this
specific problem. I've found to fix these sorts of problems, sometimes you
ahve to create a new project, and copy all the forms and units to that new
project. Other times, if a forms is not being able to be saved (but is
opened), you have to copy the source of the unit, paste it in notepad, copy
all the components to the clipboard, close the form without saving, create a
new form, paste the components, then copy the source code back!

Try getting a bug fix for Delphi.
