I am sorry to butt in a day late and a dollar short, but I could couldn't
help to see that somebody is going the same difficult path with
ReportSimth and TReport component in D3, as I did. Unfortunately when I
have tried to reply inside the thread they told I was too late. I had a
similar problem with RS_API.DLL. Chances are you have currently installed
ReportSmith 2.5, which came out in an early version of D@, also known as
D2a, later version - D2b came with RS3.0, that included RS_API.DLL. Of
course D3 expects to see RS3.0, but you can just copy the DLL.
Here is my problem. I am trying to right a program where the same TReport
component is used to show various reports based on users selection.
However no matter what I do it comes back with "UNABLE TO LOAD
RS_RUN.EXE" either on TReport.Connect or on TReport.Run. It seems that my
app doesn't see this program. FYI ReportSmith is registered with the
system to handle *.RPT files, the path to the program is in system PATH
variable, and I have trying to copy the RS_RUN.EXE or creatin shortcut to
it within the application directory. Now the questiion is whom do I kill
to make it work?
Thank you very much for you time and support. I hope somebody was able to
wrestle this monster.
Vadim

Try this: In RS_RUN.INI, Section [RS_Runtime] there must be an entry: EXEPath = Path, where RS_RUN.EXE resides. This worked for me (D1, RS2.5) Greets, Olaf accuware@telerama.lm.com schrieb im Beitrag <880819402.15838@dejanews.com>... > I am sorry to butt in a day late and a dollar short, but I could couldn't > help to see that somebody is going the same difficult path with > ReportSimth and TReport component in D3, as I did. You say that the path to the program is OK - but make sure that your path statement says something like C:\RS_RUN - it is reportsmith runtime you need to path, not full reportsmith.
